Concept:

A first-person shooter influenced by Wolfenstein and Doom. Weapons, mechanics, and adversaries are all straight from Doom. This was my first time making a doom-like level, and while it was extremely short, I got a tremendous learning experience from this project.

Responsibilities

  • Created map layouts on all stages – from simple drawings to fully functional level in unreal 

  • Designed level layout using multiple references with PureRef.

  • Fully blocked out level using Unreal Engine 5

  • Use documentation to define metrics for the player and overall level layout

  • Built level layout from inspiration like Wolfenstein and Doom

Level Map

Designed level map with gates, valves, and enemy placements using Adobe Illustrator.

I use assets from the doom-like level pack and create pillars for player cover during combat with ranged enemies.

Navigate the level

The player must navigate the level he starts with a pistol but he also finds a shotgun along the way

Pathway

Battle Area

Player fights multiple enemies in a battle area and gets red after defeating all.
